i am a bargain hunter as well as a fastideous cleaner. i loved the idea of a machine that i could use without chemicals (cheaper and cannot hurt children and animals) and that supposedly worked so well. it does. i like this machine over i have ever loved any cleaning device. the children tease me i use it a lot. the first time i used it on my “clean” floor, i could not think the film that came up, who knew that was even there. It works the best on floors. i also used it to tidy out our rental oven which the servant service swore they could not get tidy. it is brilliant on grout. the floor attachment is great on tile, it does loosen some stains on carpet but doesn’t get them up. it is great for baseboards. it is lovely on toilet lid stains. it is not lovely on a dirty bathtub or a sink, it seems to melt all of the soap scum and then move it around but not eliminate. i have used it on glass but i find windex or even vinegar and water works better and streaks less. the floor attachment is not noisy sortof hisses at you but the other ones are noisier.. and at last it makes the house smell like drycleaning which is not so bad. i would buy this plenty of times.

This steamer proved indispensable in the work of my recent move. I am using it to neat EVERYTHING in the place & all my possessions! This is a serious, well-built machine. I learned that maximum steam pressure drops faster using the large triangular brush, but stays strong longer with the step-down nozzle & smaller brushes. I would recommend this cleaner for all households, even at two times the cost.

I bought this steam cleaner after reading HUNDREDS of user reviews on Amazon. I wanted something that I could use on my floors, but I didn’t need to pour that funds in to something that could only mop. I finally settled on this. I was one time satisfied in the way it was packaged and ease of assembly. It is also simple to fill thanks to the included funnel, and doesn’t take long to heat up. Now, I haven’t used it much since purchasing it but I do have a few experiences. The first day I got it, I used it to neat a baked on mess on my glass top stove. It finally got it, but i had to focus on the spot for around twenty seconds. I have also used it on the floors, which it appeared to do a nice job, only leaving them slightly damp. Here are my warnings for somebody interested in purchasing this. It is VERY loud when you are using the focused steam nozzle. So loud, that I haven’t been able to make use of it in my bathrooms yet, I will must buy some hearing protection for that. I attempted one time, and it was hurting my ears. Also, be cautious what you try to steam, and what attachments you are using. This is my own fault I do know, but I was one time trying to steam a stuffed animal that had been in a garage for several years, and failed to recognize it was made of synthetic material, the steamer quickly melted the fabric in the spot I had it pointed. I bought this for reason. I needed something to help me with removing dried droppings from bird cages. Let me say that for this purpose it works great.
I cannot use any chemicals or harsh cleaning products, & nothing, I repeat nothing I have tried works as well as this small machine. Dried bird poo is like concrete, & the steam softens it so I can basically brush & rinse it all away with a garden hose. Now, in case you are looking for a machine that will blow the dirt away while you stand there & say ‘gee whiz’ this is NOT what you are looking for. A small elbow grease is necessary, but it will loosen tuff dirt so you can basically finish the job. The kind of steam cleaner that blows away the dirt will cost you anywhere from $500 to $1,000. For less than $100 with free shipping, this machine is a deal that is hard to beat.

With small children & spills & food & a cat who ups his hairballs they had plenty of soil. I was expecting to have a slight shadow of where the dirt was…but no…the carpet looks  new & its a light beige color. I had to change the water every 3×3 to 6×6 area depending on how plenty of passes I had to make over it, which were about three on average & as plenty of as 6-7 in places. I did NOT use the prespot & did not use the anti-foam. As long as you don’t run the tidy water directly on the OXY solution it won’t foam. I used a measuring cup & poured the Oxy in to the tank either before or after the tidy water. The largest issue is they recommend pulling the machine at the rate of 1ft per second. That is wayyyy tooo fast! For me it was more like 1ft every 5-10 seconds on average & up to 20seconds on tougher areas. My spouse & I were tremendously impressed with the results. Drying time 4-5-6 hours in places I didn’t must make plenty of passes longer for other areas. Finally, this machine sounds like a jet engine, actual loud. I strongly recommend use some kind of hearing protection. Even double protection with the ear plugs & Mickey Mouse ears on top of it. Also had to brush the fuzzies off the brushes halfway through using a medium bristle brush.

This machine does an adaquate job scrubbing the carpet. My carpet is neat now; however, there’s a few tar spots that were not removable. This is not the machine’s fault – it is road tar.

I found that if I pulled the machine backwards I had much better results. Also, mixing in ‘oxyclean’ with the water helps. And naturally I had to make over pass with the machine, but that ought to be a given – you need to scrub the dirt out of the carpet.

This is not a magic machine. You need to make several passes on the carpet, but that ought to be a given.

All of them have failed for reason or another, mostly scrubber/brush related issues and an occasional motor failure. I must admit, in all fairness, that I use a carpet cleaner on a every week basis which is probably over the average household consumer. I have a pair of Bichon Frise canines who think they own the house over me. My home has been christened by them over all the Roman Catholic church buildings combined. I have serious carpet issues.

I actually rented of these machines from Kroger. It did an incredible job. The cleaning bristles vibrate deeply inside the carpet for the best results you’ll ever find in a carpet cleaner. Most other carpet cleaners I have used only appear to scrub the surface, not the Rug Doctor. It also injects injects the ideal amount of cleaning solution in to the carpet & sucks it right up in sweep. Take it slow though, the slower you pull back, the best results you’ll see. The tank gigantic to cover a gigantic surface area, without being heavy one time filled with dirty water. My carpet was awful. It needed cleaning badly, since I have a gigantic dog & cat. The animals & I must have tracked in a gigantic amount of dirt & dirt, because the water was  black when I emptied the tank. My carpet looks & smells new after using the Rug Doctor. It did such a great job that I am actually thinking about purchasing it. If you are on the fence, go rent & take it for a spin, you won’t be disappointed.
